Disinfection is provided with our portable misting units to comprehensively disinfect surfaces and areas , as well as walk through misting booths to ensure people entering your location are virus free. Automatic fever detection occurs as you enter an entrance way and scanning for mask compliance are additional products we provide along with PPE and custom made plexi panels.
Why is a spray mist the most effective defense against germs?
A spray mist is the most effective way to reach all exposed surfaces as opposed to a targeted spray which only works on areas it touches. The use of a mist allows the disinfection solution to surround the largest number of surfaces in a room as well as on a person. A fine mist also leaves no residual wetness when walking through a misting booth.
What is used in the spray mist?
There are several disinfection solutions available. One incorporates a solution of highly diluted colloidal silver dispersed in a fine mist for disinfection lasting up to 24 hours. For decades, colloidal silver has been shown to be an effective anti-viral and bacteria-killing remedy against Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Listeria, Escherichia coli, Shigella flexneri and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Other solutions of anti-viral/bacteria killing mists are also available and each system can be customized to meet specific needs.
Do any measures have to be taken when using walking through the mist?
It is recommended to wear a mask while passing through the mist especially one that utilizes colloidal silver which has the added benefit of creating a layer of protection on the outside of your mask.
How long does the process take?
Depending upon the unit used and the size of the room, it will take between 2-5 minutes to thoroughly disinfect a room. In the case of the walk through booth, it will take 15-30 seconds from start to finish, and the mechanism recognizes the presence of a person and the mist turns on automatically.
Where would this be a useful technology?
Portable disinfecting units and walk through booths would be highly beneficial at airports, schools, healthcare facilities, factories, meat packing plants, retail stores, malls, mass transit, sporting and concert arenas and any location that has people moving in and out on an ongoing basis. It is most useful in situations where it is important for people not to bring germs into their environment.
Are units similar to these in use already?
A number of locations use these types of units such as hospitals, mass transportation systems, and military installations in Viet Nam (where there have been less than 2500 cases and 35 deaths due to Covid-19) and in other countries, including Hong Kong, France, Germany, and Israel.
Does the equipment protect against Covid-19?
Although we have not been able to specifically test COVID-19 as it is a highly guarded virus, we know that the size of the virus particles will be inactivated by colloidal silver which has been proven to inactivate bacteria such as Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Listeria, Escherichia coli, Shigella flexneri and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
What other products does Viral Defense offer?
Working with Planix Group we are also bringing to market automated fever detection technology as well as sophisticated identity scanning using facial and digital recognition.
Viral Defense also offers Plexiglas isolation panels for medical facilities, retail stores, office reception, schools, and other venues. A washable, four-layer mask with two inner layers of colloidal silver to inactivate germs is also available along with FDA-cleared N95 masks that also have a layer of colloidal silver.
Will Viral Defense create an at home model for individuals to sanitize their homes?
Initially Viral Defense wants to help as many individuals as possible as well as to provide sanitization to specific industries that involve large numbers of people. That being said, the technology lends itself easily to any number of applications, including home use.
